Birleşik Kıbrıs – İki toplumlu Barış İnisiyatifi’nden bir heyet bugün Yunan “Potami” Partisinin başkanı Stavros Theodorakis ile bir araya geldi.
Bir saat süren toplantıda, İki Toplumlu Barış İnisiyatifi – Birleşik Kıbrıs heyeti, Kıbrıs sorununa ilişkin gelişmeler hakkında ve İki Toplumlu İnisiyatif’in Kıbrıs’ı iki toplumlu, iki bölgeli bir Federasyon çerçevesinde yeniden bir araya getirecek bir anlaşmaya ve çözüme ulaşılmasına katkıda bulunmak amacıyla devam eden çalışmaları konusunda Sayın Theodorakis’e brifing verdi.
İki Toplumlu İnisiyatif, Sayın Theodorakis’e müzakere sürecinin devam eden çıkmazı ve hem Kıbrıs Türk hem de Kıbrıs Rum toplumları için çıkmaz ile ilgili oluşacak riskler hakkında brifing vererek, devam eden açmazın Türkiye’nin muhafazakârlaştırma yönündeki tehlikeli planlarının uygulanmasını ve Kıbrıs Türk toplumunun yok olmasını desteklediğini ve her iki taraftaki Kıbrıs’ın bölünmesini destekleyen güçlerin elini güçlendirirken, “iki devlet” çözümü ya da “zayıf bir konfederasyon biçimi” gibi alternatif planları teşvik ediyor olmasına değinildi.
Sn. Theodorakis, iki toplumlu, iki bölgeli federasyon çerçevesinde Kıbrıs’ın yeniden birleşmesi çabalarına desteğini belirtmiş, hem Yunanistan hem de Avrupa Birliği içerisinde İki Toplumlu Barış İnisiyatifi – Birleşik Kıbrıs’ın amaçlarını destekleme konusunda ve yeniden birleşme yolunda herhangi bir yardım sağlama konusunda hazır olduklarını dile getirmiştir.

A delegation of the Bi-communal Peace Initiative – United Cyprus met today with Stavros Theodorakis, the president of the Geek Party “ Potami”.
At the meeting that lasted for an hour, the delegation of the Bi-communal Peace Initiative– United Cyprus briefed Mr Theodorakis with regard to the developments around the Cyprus problem and the ongoing actions of the Bi-communal Initiative to contribute towards the efforts to achieve an agreed solution that would reunite Cyprus within the context of a Bi-communal, Bi-zonal Federation.
The Bi-communal Initiative further briefed Mr Theodorakis on the risks associated with the continuing impasse and stalemate of the negotiation process, for both the T/C and G/C communities, since the continuing impasse favors the implementation of Turkey’s dangerous plans for Islamisation and annihilation of the Turkish Cypriot community, while enhancing the influence of the forces on both sides that work for the partition of Cyprus promoting alternative plans like the “two state” solution or a “weak form of confederation”.
Mr Theodorakis expressed his support of the efforts for the reunification of Cyprus within the framework of a Bi-communal Bi-zonal Federation and his readiness to provide any form of assistance to the Bi-communal Peace Initiative– United Cyprus in promoting its aims and advocating on the cause of reunification both within Greece and the European Union.
