BM Genel Sekreteri Kıbrıs Geçici Özel Danışmanı;
Kıbrıs Türk Toplumu’nun demokrasi, insan haklarına saygı ve Kıbrıs’ın federal çözümle birleştirilmesi hedeflerine yönelik olarak Bu Memleket Bizim Platformu adı altında, bir araya gelen siyasi parti, sendika ve sivil toplum örgütleri olarak, BM Genel Sekreteri Sn. Antonio Guterres ve sizlerin çözüm konusunda yürüttüğünüz çalışmaları saygı ve takdirle karşılıyoruz.
Kıbrıs’ın kuzeyindeki seçimlere müdahale ile ortaya çıkan yapay siyasi iradenin, Ankara Hükümeti ile birlikte ortaya koyduğu, BM kararlarına aykırı, ayrı devlet talebinin, çözümün önünde engel olduğunu düşünüyoruz. Kıbrıs sorununun çözümsüz kalmasını ve adanın kuzeyinin Türkiye’ye entegrasyonunu hedefleyen bu talep, Kıbrıs Türk toplumunun gerek Annan Planı referandumunda, gerekse daha sonraki kitlesel eylemlerinde ortaya koyduğu somut federal çözüm talebine aykırıdır. Kıbrıs Türk Toplumu’nun büyük çoğunluğunun talebi olan iki tarafça da kabul edilmiş, BM kararları ile kayıt altına alınmış Birleşik Federal Kıbrıs çözümü, en gerçekçi ve sürdürülebilir çözüm şeklidir.
Çözümsüzlüğü devam ettirmek için, Ankara Hükümeti tarafından ortaya atılan ve Kıbrıslı Türklerin iradesini temsil etmeyenlerce sizlere iletilen iki ayrı devlet önerisinin, BM’yi devre dışı bırakmaya yönelik olduğunu hatırlatır, taraflarca karşılıklı olarak kabul edilerek Birleşmiş Milletler kayıtlarına ve kararlarına girmiş federal çözüm için tarafların çözüm masasına oturmalarına yönelik diplomatik çabalarınızı yoğunlaştırmanızı talep ederiz.

UN Secretary General’s Special Advisor on Cyprus;
As political parties, trade unions and non-governmental organizations that came together under the name of This Country is Ours Platform for the goals of democracy, respect for human rights and the unification of Cyprus with a federal solution, we respect and appreciate the efforts you and UN Secretary General Mr. Antonio Guterres are making on reaching a viable solution.
We believe that, the demand for the two separate sovereign states which is contrary to the UN resolutions that put forward by the artificial political will that emerged with the interference in the elections in the northern part of Cyprus together with the Ankara Government is an obstacle to the solution. This demand, which aims for an unresolved Cyprus problem and the integration of the northern part of the island with Turkey, is contrary to the concrete federal solution demand put forward by the Turkish Cypriot community both in the Annan Plan referendum and in its subsequent mass actions.
The United Federal Cyprus solution, which has been accepted by both parties and stated on the UN resolutions, is the most realistic and sustainable form of solution, demanded by the majority of the Turkish Cypriot Community.
We would like to remind you that the two separate state proposal that is put forward by the Ankara Government and conveyed to you by those who do not represent the will of the Turkish Cypriots, in order to continue the deadlock, aims to disable the UN’s role within the process. Therefore, we request you to intensify your diplomatic efforts for bringing the Community Leaders together at the negotiation table for a federal solution that has already been mutually accepted by the parties and entered into the United Nations’ records and resolutions.
